The Last Picture House:

The dream that comes true

Looking for a cinema in Davenport

What happens when two passionate filmmakers dream of bringing an elevated cinema experience to their hometown? The Last Picture House was born.

Founded by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, this boutique cinema and cocktail lounge in Davenport, Iowa, blends nostalgia with modern technology, offering moviegoers an unforgettable experience.

With two auditoriums (150 seats & 48 seats), a rooftop bar, and an outdoor screening space, this project was more than just a cinema, it was about creating a space where storytelling, technology, and atmosphere come together.

How did we build this experience?

Engineering the ultimate boutique cinema experience

For a theater equipped with laser projection, 35MM projection, and Dolby ATMOS sound, this project required high-level engineering and precision, something we specialize in.

What we delivered: from cinema auditoriums to rooftop projection and lobby sound.

Advanced Projection & Sound Systems

  • Installed Barco laser projectors in both auditoriums.
  • Integrated Dolby ATMOS in the larger auditorium and Dolby 7.1 sound in the smaller one.

Rooftop under the stars

  • Designed and installed a non-DCI projector with a motorized screen for an outdoor screening experience.

An immersive sound

from the first step

  • Created a custom lobby sound design to enhance the overall experience.

The Premiere Experience

The community’s response was overwhelmingly positive, with guests experiencing exactly what Scott Beck and Bryan Woods envisioned for their hometown in the Quad Cities.
