A Big Push Towards Holiday Movie Season

As Thanksgiving is now behind us and the holiday movie season approaches, production companies and theatre owners are hoping that current theatrical releases will continue to attract moviegoers before the new big name movies hit the screens this month.

Currently as of the last week of November, according to boxofficepro.com, the 10 most popular movies in the U.S. include (in order):

v  Ghostbusters: Afterlife

v  Eternals

v  Encanto

v  Clifford the Big Red Dog

v  King Richard

v  House of Gucci

v  Dune

v  No Time to Die

v  Venom: Let There be Carnage

v  Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

Boxofficepro.com also lists the current domestic yearly box office gross (as of Dec. 2) to be $3,549,871,953 which is up significantly from 2020’s $2,103,085,767 and still drastically lower than 2019’s $11,320,872,943.

We still have work to do as the pandemic continues, but the industry is trending upward.

See you at the movies!
